Our landmark project for the University of Leeds has been shortlisted for another award! The collaborative research building is up for the New Building (over £10 million) category.
The Sir William Henry Bragg Building is a major milestone within our wider campus masterplan for the University of Leeds. This collaborative research building provides a range laboratory and specialised teaching environments. A crucial aspect of the project was to sensitively repurpose the Grade II* listed Old Mining Building to form part of the new centre. We upgraded the glazing and added a new rooftop extension to ensure enhanced airtightness and thermal performance.
The Leeds Architecture Awards are a celebration of excellence in design, with any buildings or spaces completed between July 2018 and June 2023 and located in the Leeds Metropolitan District being eligible. All shortlisted projects will now be reviewed by a panel of judges during the summer and the winning projects will be announced on 1st November at the Howard Assembly.
Congratulations to the project team and good luck to everyone who’s been shortlisted!
