This week the ADP-designed Children’s Day Surgery Unit at Evelina London Children’s Hospital was officially opened by Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales.

The Princess of Wales, who is Evelina London’s Royal Patron, was given a tour of the building, meeting staff, patients, and family members.

The building has been designed to treat children the same day, with careful consideration given to the patient flow. The interior is mapped as a one-way system, where patients being prepared for and entering surgery don’t cross over with patients post-op, or as they move into recovery and same-day discharge.

Since opening in July, the Centre has treated over 700 children and young people.
