This week, Education Estates announced that we’ve been shortlisted in two award categories.
ADP is up for the Architectural Practice of the Year Award. This award recognises excellence in delivering value and functionality with projects, while also promoting best practice in innovative design in the education sector.
Our recent education projects have ranged from a LETI Pioneer project – a new secondary school which will demonstrate best practice in designing for a net zero-carbon future – through to developing a Higher Education Third Space concept, which explores the blended boundary between living and learning. Last year we also launched our bespoke Sustainability Belonging and Engagement (SBE) assessment tool, which helps us plan and measure the social and environmental impact of projects.
In addition, the Swan School in Oxford has been shortlisted for the Schools Project of the Year Award. Our design for this new secondary school responds sensitively to its setting, and to the needs and interest of the local community. We engaged with the key stakeholders to ensure the core aspects such as sustainability and a sense of belonging were reflected in the spaces we created.
The winners will be announced on the 12th October at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester. Good luck to everyone who’s been shortlisted!
