ADP’s zero-carbon development in Oxfordshire will provide new homes, retail, and community facilities.

ADP has submitted planning permission for a zero-carbon mixed-use development in the UK’s first and largest scale eco-town, Elmsbrook in north-west Bicester. The Elmsbrook Local Centre will provide affordable housing, a community centre, retail spaces, a café, offices, a nursery and public realm at the heart of the development.

ADP’s design creates a distinct community heart for Elmsbrook, responding to the eco-town credentials of the development. Located at the centre of Phase 1 of the eco-town, the community centre provides a variety of flexible spaces to ensure the needs of the community will be met now and in the future. External areas connect to the wider landscape through an integrated landscape design that is sensitive to its green context, enhancing biodiversity and creating a sense of place.

In addition to architecture and landscape design, ADP provided environmental consultancy for the scheme, achieving a highly efficient, low-energy, and zero-carbon design.

The multi-award winning Elmsbrook eco-town development in the Oxford–Cambridge corridor is being developed by A2 Dominion. The overall scheme will create up to 6000 highly energy-efficient homes, as well as new workplaces, schools and community facilities. The development supports residents in achieving a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing within this new community setting.
