Work on the new single-storey extension of Cedar House – home to the University of Liverpool’s School of Medicine – is set to take place over the course of the next 10 months.
The aim is to improve Cedar House’s learning and student social environment, with ADP starting work with John Turner Construction Group (JTCC) on the project at the end of last year. The necessary structural alterations on the ground floor are now almost complete, so the green light has been given to begin work on the extension itself.
The extension will establish a new student hub, as well as new and improved study areas, with full access between the ground floor area of the extension and the outdoor courtyard area also being provided.
As the project is largely based on student feedback, ADP will aim to provide students with exactly what they require in terms of social and study spaces, including the type of facilities and furniture they need to get the most out of their new hub. The relandscaped courtyard will also provide a more seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor areas of Cedar House.
The project is set for completion by the end of 2019.
