Back in November, the Sleep + Eat conference brought together leading designers and brands from the world of hospitality design – hoteliers, restaurants and bars. Concept spaces created the opportunity for influential designers and brands to join forces to create new experiences, drawing on themes of indulgence, food, culture, philosophy, wisdom, and the natural world.
In the hotel sector, smart technologies are enabling a more personalised visitor/guest experience which starts the minute you step through the door. Clever design touches, such as OLED and LED feature lighting and textured surface design – in carpets, vinyl and ceramics – stimulate our senses as bedrooms are stage-set, rather than feeling standardised.
Tonal sanitaryware, complemented by black and bronze brassware, adds a richness to schemes, helping brands stand out from the crowd.
So what do these trends mean for ADP?

Looking ahead, we’re excited to be able to apply some of this thinking to our own projects.
Building on our work at Spanish City – creating a rich mix of restaurants and cafés in Whitley Bay – we’re exploring concepts for new hospitality projects: applying smart technologies to conference and learning spaces to facilitate collaboration and helping our clients stand out from the crowd.
In the workplace, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to create a cohesive interior design strategy for a major London NHS Trust, ensuring their brand and values are clearly communicated in collaborative office spaces across the capital.
We are looking forward to showcasing these designs later in the spring.
