ADP is pleased to announce that we have submitted an application for outline planning permission on behalf of the City of Wolverhampton Council for a new health and wellbeing facility. The proposal includes residential accommodation, providing opportunities for key worker housing and affordable living.
Located off Probert Road in Wolverhampton, the Oxley health hub is part of a wider masterplan for the Council. Our brief was to design a healthcare centre housing two GP practices along with supplementary homes on the site to create a new, sustainable community in the city. Umesh Luharia, director at ADP, said “the development will bring a derelict brownfield site back into use employing a crafted and considerable design in its architecture.”
Uniquely, the residences will be provided under the Self & Customs Build Scheme.
Stakeholder engagement was crucial to ensure the scheme takes into account feedback from a cross-section of the community. Surika Carvalho, associate at ADP, said “we feel that local residents will significantly benefit from these new buildings which will be designed into a carefully landscaped setting.” When complete, the healthcare centre will serve as the new focus for the community.
Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Assets and Housing, added “This is an ambitious proposal that makes use of a brownfield site that is no longer in use and will deliver an important community asset.
Following the successful community events held earlier this summer and the engagement workshop with stakeholders, we gained very useful feedback from a cross section of the community.
The feedback received was instrumental in shaping the final design of the Oxley project as it helped identify further opportunities to benefit the community.
This new facility will provide invaluable health and wellbeing services for the local community and will also help deliver more and better homes in Oxley.”
Demolition works on the former training centre occupying the site are expected to start by late spring 2023.

ADP has submitted designs to Leeds City Council for a new railway station at White Rose, in south Leeds. The planning application was submitted by Network Rail of behalf of Munroe K Luxembourg, owner of the adjoining White Rose Office Park, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The aim is that White Rose Rail Station will be operational from the end of 2021.
